Cadets Brandon Leisure and Zachary Yanakeff traveled to the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, DC along with Chaplain Fleming this past weekend to attend the National Acolyte Festival. The festival invites acolytes and those interested in being an acolyte (grades 6-12), vergers, parents and others interested in acolyte ministry to attend. The purpose of the festival is to provide those in attendance the opportunity to worship, celebrate and be enriched by other acolytes.
It was an excellent trip and a great opportunity for both cadets. They were also able to visit The Smithsonian Art and History Museum, The Capital Building, The National Cathedral, and Christ Church in Alexandria, VA where they were able to sit in George Washington’s pew. Both cadets represented The Howe School very well throughout the entire trip.
